Lazy Painting Trip
This weekend as a way to decompress after the talk, I took myself out for a quiet plein air painting excursion in the Angeles National Forest. I packed my oil paints, for the first time since my Iceland plein air trip, and some small 11 x 14 inch canvases as a test run for future, maybe bigger work.
No I didn’t make it all the way to the Cosmic Cafe, but armed with a jug of peanut butter filled pretzles and a luke warm match latte, made a couple stops at overlook pullouts along the 2 Highway. There are so many amazing vistas it was hard to choose a spot.
