Are copycats just misguided people pleasers?
On the menu: anything you want. The more complicated the better.
Since starting therapy again, I have been thinking a lot about people-pleasing. When I became aware of the term people pleaser I imagined someone who is always making other people happy, spreading joy to their friends and neighbors. They may secretly hold a grudge, but are more or less ok being of service to the greater good. Turns out, the symptoms and underlying motivations of people pleasers are not that cute.
