Thibault here.
Thank you for joining me for my writing experiment, Art Date.
What is Art Date?
Art Date is a blog, newsletter, and occasional podcast about art, belonging, living in Los Angeles, and finding inspiration wherever it may come, all delivered at lunchtime.
Inspired by Julia Cameron weekly art date as part of the Artist’s Way regimen, Art Date was created to generate inspiration, the fun of art-making and what might hold us back from finding the first two.
In addition to first-person essays, I will share interviews with artists and other creative people to see what they have to say about trying to light a fire without a spark. (From what I gather, it does not go well.)
I am also the Host and Creator of The Side Woo podcast which blends my interest in mental health topics, metaphysics and the complex, uncertain life of a creative person. I will be sharing thoughts about our weekly episodes (released on Thursday) in addition to a weekly post about what’s going on in my life, and the occasional Substack note.
How to support Art Date & The Side Woo podcast
Both Art Date and The Side Woo have been heart-opening endeavors that offer me a platform to say the things in the deepest, and often darkest recesses of my soul. Through the podcast, I have been able to have some really wild and inspiring conversations with so many interesting people, and still counting. It fills me with great joy to be surrounded by such an engaging, wild community who share these interests.
Because I don’t agree with the politics of the CEO of Substack, Chris Best, but I still believe in the power of the platform I have decided to make my Substack and all connected content completely free. Please enjoy and share freely.
If you would like to send me a little something for my trouble, you’re welcome to Venmo me at @thibault11.
